Cases
His recent work includes:
- Sole counsel in an emergency challenge under the Care Act 2014, which resulted in the challenged decisions being withdrawn by the Defendant.
- Junior counsel in a human rights challenge against the Home Office on behalf of a charity.
- Advising on human rights challenges in the context of social security law.
During pupillage, he assisted on a range of public law and human rights matters, including:
- A judicial review of a deprivation of citizenship decision in the Special Immigration Appeals Commission.
- A judicial review of a refusal to grant assistance under the Afghan Relocations and Assistance Policy.
- A judicial review of a housing allocation scheme, alleging discrimination under both the Equality Act 2010 and Article 14 ECHR.
- Advice on merits and quantum for a false imprisonment claim and Article 8 ECHR damages claim in the immigration context.
Reuben also undertakes pro bono work in the fields of social security law and education law, and has successfully represented clients in both areas at the First-tier Tribunal.
